The Electric Pickle

Every year on New Years Eve I electrocute pickles. How and why this tradition started no one really knows, being that we are generally very drunk at the time. There is a good description of why pickles light up when electrocuted here, so I won't bore you with the details. It's fun to do, but rather stinky. Lysa managed to capture one of this years sacrifices as a movie. Enjoy!

Yeah, but next year, we need better pickles. Those sad little pickles we sacrificed just couldn't give that spectacular display.

My kids were watching "Rugrats: All Growed Up" yesterday and they actually did an electric pickle as a science experiment in class. Scary, Ed's influencing children's entertainment now.

I teach a bio class and was wondering how you did this. I have tried many things but have not been able to do it. I would appriciate your responce.
