A productive day
I took the day off today. My official excuse is that I have to meet with my tax man today (and boy are my taxes going to be interesting this year...) I didn't need a whole day for that, even if it is in Costa Mesa. I'm glad I did take the day off though, as I actually got quite a bit done today.
My weekends tend to be busy, mostly with driving down to Orange County from Tarzana and back again. It's a long drive. Then there's hockey. Sunday is the only day I have to really relax, but then I have laundry to do. This all means that I haven't had a lot of time to work on personal projects.
Today, however I had lots of time to do that, and managed to release a new version of StartupItem Manager. It's long over due and I have a slew of features I want to add, but I felt that this version had enough bug fixes (only a couple) and features (again only a couple, but they are important) that I figured that it was worth a release. Plus there is a tendency to hold off on releases. There's always one more thing to add, etc. But if you don't cut it off at some point and release the damn thing it'll never get done.
Of course I did other things today as well. I finally got my Jeep washed. It's been, oh, about six months at least, so I thought it might be nice to do that. I also ran some errands that needed to get done.
I also got a kick out of the hornets nest I stirred up with my last post. It's a healthy sign that there are so many varied and strong opinions.
All in all I've had a good day.
