Live shrimp!
Now, shrimp sushi isn't a big deal. Hell, even Rick will eat that (or at least he did once, I dunno if we could get him to do that again). But what about live shrimp? We went to the local sushi place for lunch and one of the chefs, Sato, gives us this look and asks if we want to try shrimp sushi. Alex and I looked at each other and said "Well, yeah...", but we were leary because Sato looked so conspiratorial. He goes in the back and comes out with two big LIVE shrimp. Okay, I can eat Uni. But this? Sato and Shin-gi (the other chef) kept saying "it's the best, really good!" and stuff like that so I figured it'd be good, but they also kept stressing that the shrimp was STILL ALIVE when you eat it. It was a strange experience. It was really good (sweet, really), but when you bite off the piece from the end of the tail I noticed that the little fins twitched. That was a bit creepy. Then Sato fried up the heads tempura style and we ate them too, shell and all. Very crunchy. And good. But weird.

Naw, Rick won't be doing that again any time soon. He says it was "slimy". I'm awfully proud of him for trying it in the first place though!

Steamed shrimp. No glaze, no sauce. On top of white rice.
Slimy?

Now I can eat just about anything, but food that isn't dead? I couldn't handle that.
