Thoughts from today

I bought a little memo pad today to keep notes on while I'm on the road. It's about a three day drive to Chicago, so I thought it'd be good to take notes on things so I can blog them later.

Here's what I wrote today, and why:

"Spent the day waiting on Mat"

I went up to to Tarzana to drop off the keys to my apartment. While I was in the area I was supposed to go to lunch with Mat, since who knows when we'll see each other again. This was all worked out a couple of days ago, over the phone. I was near Mat's place about 11:30AM, so I called his apartment and cell; no answer. So I go drop off my keys in Tarzana and head back down. I call Mat on the way; again no answer. Sigh. I get to Griffith Park and find a parking lot. I use the time to put CDs into the CD case thing I got (I finally have a decent CD player and speakers in my car) and wait. Mat finally calls, but says he has to do some work at the school he teaches at but will be done within an hour. I say I'll wait at his place. I go to his place and wait. And wait. And wait. An hour and a half later he shows up and we go to lunch (at 2:30PM).

"Why do I have the feeling that my change of address card is not going to be processed soon enough?"

When I got to the apartment I checked the mail one last time. The change of address card was there. They circled the 'start date' that I forgot to put in. I filled it out with yesterdays date. I hope that works. I just get the feeling that I'm going to miss some important piece of mail. Oh well. Fuck it.

One thing I noticed today: Traffic is much more bearable if you have good, loud music.

good LOUD music is always great. thats why my cheap ass stereo is always cranked in my truck, unless someone else is in the car.
