Comment Spam
The litmusgreen.com weblogs have been up for a while now, and so, naturally, I have had to deal with comment spam. I have been using MT-Blacklist since it came out, and here's the latest stats:
MT-Blacklist Stats
Comment spams blocked: 11680
Comment spams moderated: 1514
Duplicates blocked: 1
Blacklist - Strings: 3168
Blacklist - URLPatterns: 34
Blacklist - Regexes: 36
Blacklist - FlexProtect: 0
Blacklist - Pending: N/A
And none of out blogs are popular outside our friends. I can't imagine what high volume blogs must have to deal with.
While it's good seeing that MTB is doing a great job keeping the bad guys down, it makes me sad to think that somewhere some assholes are writing code to do this to people. Isn't email spam bad enough? Is it really necessary to ruin every form of communication and expression on the net?

My little ol' Fresh Tuneage site was getting spam early on. I simply banned "http://" from being in a comment. It's pretty much stopped the spam.
