Revenge of the Sith
Vicki and I went to the midnight showing of Revenge of the Sith last night. We were both a little melancholy, I think. After all, this was the last time we'd be watching a new Star Wars movie for the first time, and we are both huge Star Wars fans. We both had pretty high expectations.
We were not disappointed. Quite the opposite. This is the movie I have wanted to see since I was six years old.
I expected to be a bit sad when the movie came to a close, but instead I found myself thinking "This is right, this is how it should be." It was like a sense of closure, I guess. I wasn't sad at all. Everything was put in place and all the questions were answered. It all fit.
The movie itself was amazing. There were scenes that you kept thinking they can't keep this intensity up, and yet they did. The opening battle is mind blowing. And the dual at the end was so fast and furious you couldn't imagine it going on as long as it did.
The story is very tragic, very dark, and some parts are very graphic. Much more so than I though they would be, but I'm glad George Lucas didn't hold back. It was what we have wanted to see for a very long time.
George Lucas, on behalf of my inner six year old boy, thank you!

I agree. I've already seen the movie twice. But, honestly, I couldn't get past that Darth Vader "Nooooooo!"
