Last Week I went to the annual Vandals Christmas Formal. My kid went with me, making this the first gig I've ever taken him to. He's been to shows with his mom before, but never to see punk bands.
Nerfherder played as well, and while their sound is quite different than the mighty Vandals, everyone loved them. It was great to see them finally and it's a relief to hear a band sound like they do on the cd. Too many times I've been disappointed to hear a band just suck live.
And I doubt any band in the world has as much fun as the Vandals... even while wearing suits and having snow blowers on stage.

BAGHDAD—The Iraqi Department of Homeland Security recently released a 10-level, color-coded homeland security advisory system that will alert citizens to the risk of a terrorist attack within Iraq's borders...

I plugged my Mesa Boogie in for the first time since LG's last gig ever. I forgot about Narcoleptic Youth throwing pies onstage and my amp being in the blast radius. Scrubbing years old dried whipped cream is a breeze with water and a toothbrush.
Just in case you need to do that yourself.
Playing again feels nice. Rusty, but not too bad. It's also nice having something to focus on, rather than just jamming. Trying to learn songs that are written in a different style than your own is a challenge. Well worth it though.
btw, sheet music is one of the greatest inventions humans have come up with. Inaccurate tabs from any tab site just suck.
